Evolved from late-end Disco and Dance trends, by being more structured. Eventually fused Contemporary R&B elements (Whitney, MJ) and House breakdowns.

Late 2000s saw the rise of Electropop, early 2010s EDM influenced Dance-Pop, and the late 2010s saw the rise of Nu-Disco crossovers.
